When I tell people that I coach on the side of poker playing, I tend to get a pretty large question mark on their face as a response. People don’t think that poker playing is something where coaching is needed. What these same people do not understand is how much coaching can increase, improve, and invigorate a player’s game. That is where I come into play…

I’ve been coaching poker now for roughly six years. I’ve taken on over 500 different students, and really take a huge interest in developing and improving their game. Most coaches don’t take the same approach I do…either they coach only in the way that they learn, they take no interest other than financial gain from a student, or they overcharge for nowhere near the amount of information given.

I pride myself on taking an interest in ALL my students. Yes, I do charge an hourly rate, but nothing in life is free =). However, the large difference between myself and other coaches is my style. I teach based on how the student learns. If the student learns best by watching, then they can ghost a session of mine. If the student learns best by listening, then we will do a more structured and “lesson-based” session. If the student learns best with a “hands-on” approach, then I will ghost one of their sessions and critique as we go along…

The option is really up to the student. I firmly believe that you should get what you pay for, and that the customer is always right (ok, I’ve hit my yearly quota on clichés now), and go about my coaching with that in mind. Prices are negotiable on a case by case basis, and I will be more than happy to produce both references and stats/winnings sheets if necessary.
